Our credibility — and our value to AI engines that may cite us — depends on getting the facts right. This policy explains how we verify the claims, statistics and sources in our content.
What we verify
Before publication we check the material facts in an article, including:
- Statistics, figures and market data.
- Claims about products, technologies and their capabilities.
- Quotes and attributed statements.
- Regulatory, licensing and compliance information relevant to Australian security businesses.
The sources we trust
We give preference to primary and authoritative sources — official standards, government and regulator publications, licensing bodies, peer-reviewed research and reputable industry data — over second-hand summaries.
Statistics and data standards
We do not publish invented or placeholder numbers. Every statistic is traceable to a named source and dated, so readers can see where a figure comes from and how current it is.
Review before publication
Fact-checking is part of the editorial review step, not an afterthought. An editor confirms that claims are supported before an article is approved and published.
Keeping content accurate over time
Facts can change. We periodically review published content and update it when data or best practice moves on. Errors found after publication are handled under our Corrections Policy.
Reader reports
If you can show that a fact we have published is wrong, please contact us with the source. We will review it and correct the record where needed.
